Over the years as I've developed my skills in taking photos and processing, I have won a few awards and been recognized for the quality of my work by inclusion in various shows and events. I've sold my work in several art galleries in Colorado Springs.
In 2015, the Colorado Photography Learning Group selected my monochrome sunrise on Torres del Paine as Best of Show!
The Pueblo Art Guild selected a sunrise on Mt. Sneffels from Dallas Divide as the Best of Show. My sunrise at Mesa Arch won 1st place in the Color Category and a monochrome from Arches NP took 2nd place. The picture shown here from Garden of the Gods, won an Honorable Mention.
The Colorado Springs Art Guild selected one of my monochrome captures for 2nd Place in their annual show! And again in 2015!
The Rocky Mountain Field Institute chose one of my pictures as their Grand Prize winner. The following year, 3 of my photos have been selected as finalists in their category. The Snow Goose Festival (Lamar, CO) awarded a couple of my pictures also.
I had one of my pictures from North Cheyenne Canon selected as Mr. January (my joke) for the City of Colorado Springs 2014 calendar and again for the2015 Calendar. In the 2016 calendar I have two monthly pictures.
I started with a point-and-shoot, but moved to a Nikon D300 and then a Nikon D800. At this point, I process my pictures in Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC where I also use Nik, Flypaper Textures and Topaz filters.
